I get variations of these questions all the time — in DMs, in consultations, in emails from women who found the website and aren’t quite sure what to make of it. I’m putting them all here because if you’re wondering, you’re probably not the only one.

Do I have to be a certain size or look a certain way?

No. And I mean that in the most literal sense possible. My portfolio includes women across a genuinely wide range of body types, ages, and backgrounds — not because I’m trying to be inclusive as a statement, but because that’s who books sessions and that’s who I photograph. The work looks good on all of them. Body size is not a limiting factor here.

Will you share my photos?

Only if you say I can, and in writing. I do not post client work without explicit permission. Period. Some clients give me permission to use images for my portfolio or social media. Others prefer complete privacy. Both are completely fine, and I never assume one or the other.

I’ve never done anything like this. Is that a problem?

It’s actually the norm. Most of my clients have never done this before. You don’t need experience, you don’t need to know how to pose, you don’t need to have any idea what to expect. That’s what the consultation and my direction during the session are for. You just have to show up.

What if I get there and I’m not comfortable?

Then we slow down. We talk. We adjust. You are never obligated to do anything you don’t want to do in a session — not a pose, not a wardrobe piece, nothing. I’ve had sessions where a client arrived and we spent the first thirty minutes just talking because she needed to get comfortable before anything else. That’s okay. The session moves at your pace.

How long does a session take?

Depending on the package, anywhere from about 90 minutes to a full half-day. I build time in for wardrobe changes, breaks, and the natural rhythm of a session — which almost never moves at the pace you’d expect from the outside. It usually goes faster than clients think once they’re in it.

When do I see my images?

We do a private reveal session — usually within two to three weeks of your shoot date. You’ll see your images for the first time with me present, on a large screen, in a setting designed for that moment. It’s not a dropbox link in your inbox. The reveal is part of the experience.

What if I hate how I look in photos?

Most women who say this have never been photographed by someone who was specifically trying to make them look like themselves. Hating photos of yourself is usually a function of context — bad lighting, unflattering angles, someone snapping a candid at a family dinner. A boudoir session is the exact opposite of that. I can’t promise you’ll love every single image, but I have yet to have a client who didn’t find something in her gallery she was genuinely moved by.

Do I need to bring hair and makeup done, or do you offer that?

Both options are available. I work with professional hair and makeup artists who are experienced specifically in photography prep — which is different from everyday makeup in terms of what reads well on camera. I can add that to your session, or if you prefer to do your own, I’ll give you guidance on what translates well under our lighting.

Still have questions?

Good. Send them here. There are no questions too small or too weird — I’ve probably heard them all. If you’re ready to move forward, booking is here.

Chicago boudoir Photographer stablish in chicago, posing with a nice smile for profile photo

HI, I'M NICK. I'M A PHOTOGRAPHER

With over 20 years in graphic arts, advertising, and fashion photography, I've learned one thing: the most powerful women I've photographed were the ones who decided to show up as themselves. My job isn't to turn you into someone else — it's to capture what already exists in you and give it back to you in a photo you won't be able to stop looking at.
